This graph starts at the peak of the last ice age (Glacial Maximum) and shows sea level rise as the glaciers melted. The rapid sea level rise slowed about 8,000 years ago, but continues.
Notice that the vertical scale is 10 meters (30 ft.) per division.
24,000 years of sea level rise
This graph starts at the start of the last ice age and shows that the rate of rise has slowed, but continues.
Notice that the vertical scale is 1 meter (3 ft.) per division.
8,000 years of sea level rise
The last 120 years show a constant rate of rise, with no noticeable speed up after the 1950s when CO2 levels increased.
Notice that the vertical scale is 0.05 meter (2 inch.) per division.
The rate of rise was 20 cm (8 in.) in the 100 years from 1910.
120 years of sea level rise
This IPCC chart shows a range of projections from various models along with “uncertainty” envelope.
The range of the upper projection is from about 0.1m (4”) to 0.9m (36”) inches.
The mid point of the various projections is about 0.44 m (17”)
This is a doubling of the recent historic rate of rise. Or an extra 9 inches on top of the historical 8 inches.
IPCC projects average 0.4 m

On the basis of climate modeling and analogies with past conditions, the potential
for multimeter increases in sea level by the end of the 21st century has been proposed.

But if there is one scientist who knows more about sea levels than anyone else in
the world it is the Swedish geologist and physicist Nils-
. . .
Despite fluctuations down as well as up, "the sea is not rising," he says. "It hasn't risen in 50 years." If there is any rise this century it will "not be more than 10cm (four inches), with an uncertainty of plus or minus 10cm". And quite apart from examining the hard evidence, he says, the elementary laws of physics (latent heat needed to melt ice) tell us that the apocalypse conjured up by
Al Gore and Co could not possibly come about.
. . .
When running the International Commission on Sea Level Change, he launched a special project on the Maldives, whose leaders have for 20 years been calling for vast sums of international aid to stave off disaster. Six times he and his expert team visited the islands, to confirm that the sea has not risen for half a century. Before announcing his findings, he offered to show the inhabitants a film explaining why they had nothing to worry about. The government refused to let it be shown.

When I spoke to Dr Mörner last week, he expressed his continuing dismay at how the IPCC has fed the scare on this crucial issue. When asked to act as an "expert reviewer" on the IPCC's last two reports, he was "astonished to find that not one of their 22 contributing authors on sea levels was a sea level specialist: not one". Yet the results of all this "deliberate ignorance" and reliance on rigged computer models have become the most powerful single driver of the entire warmist hysteria.

The fantasy of accelerating sea level rise just got hosed
We’ve been told over an over again that global warming would melt the icecaps, and
melt Greenland, and that would result in catastrophic sea level rise flooding cities.
We’ve also been told that “sea level rise is “accelerating” but in an investigation
done here on WUWT by Willis Eschenbach, Putting the Brakes on Acceleration, he noted
in 2011 that there seems to be no evidence of it at all, and notes that sea level
was rising faster in the first half of the record. https://wattsupwiththat.com/2018/02/04/the-
Ocean Level Have Been Rising For Millennia, Slower Recently
this newest analysis of the most comprehensive data set available suggests that there has been no dramatic increase – or any increase, for that matter – in the mean rate of global sea level rise due to the historical increase in the atmosphere’s CO2 concentration.[Therefore, there is no evidence of any human influence on sea levels]

Worldwide tide gauge comparisons show no acceleration in sea level rise
